Kayaking Adventure Package Details
Similar "Comfort Plus" Canoe Package is provided, but customized to accommodate a kayak trip. You may choose from two options for your trip:

Birch Lake Kayak Adventure
Your kayak adventure takes place outside of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and no permit is required.
Leave right from River Point's dock on Birch Lake, and travel through 6,000+ acre Birch Lake and the South Kawishiwi River which are located just outside the Boundary Waters (BWCA)...but right at its doorstep. The pristine waters you will travel along the 20-mile shoreline are natural and have only a minimum of shoreline development with hundred of bays, inlets and islands for you to explore.
There are many campsites, and the same box latrine and fire grate that you would find in the BWCA are provided at each campsite.

Boundary Waters BWCA Kayak Adventure
You kayak adventure takes place inside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and a permit is required.
Two choices for this trip are available:
1) Basswood Lake via Fall Lake
2) Basswood Lake via Moose Lake and Prairie Portage.
How do you access the Boundary Waters with your kayak?
There is a mechanical portage at Prairie Portage for which a fee is charged to take you across the portage, or you may use a portage wheel where you will transport your equipment on your own. Portage wheels must be utilized at the portages between Fall Lake and Pipestone Bay to transport your equipment. River Point-your Boundary Waters canoe trip outfitters-rents portage wheels at $7 each per day.

You have the option to set up a base-camp or have a touring kayak trip, where you will move your campsite each day.
